Brein Group V.O.F. (“Brein Group”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of merchants, customers, and other users of our applications and services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard personal information when you install and use our apps built for the Shopify platform.

This policy applies to all current and future apps developed and published by Brein Group. At present, this includes only one app — Fresh Tags — but this Privacy Policy governs all Brein Group apps as they are released.

1. Information We Collect

When you install and use a Brein Group app, including Fresh Tags, we may collect the following information from your Shopify store through Shopify’s API:

Store information: shop domain, contact email, and store settings.
Products and product details: product IDs, titles, variants, collections, and associated metadata required to provide tagging functionality.
Orders and customers (if required by the app): order IDs, order details, customer IDs, names, or emails, only to the extent needed to provide the requested app features.
App usage data: how you interact with our app, including logs of automated actions (e.g., tags created or removed).

We do not collect or process payment card details, nor do we sell or rent personal information to third parties.

2. How We Use Information

We use the collected information to:

Provide and operate the app (e.g., automatically tagging products, orders, or customers).
Authenticate your store and allow secure communication with Shopify.
Improve and optimize our app’s functionality, performance, and reliability.
Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
Comply with legal obligations, including GDPR and data protection requirements.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not share or disclose your information except in the following limited circumstances:

With Shopify: as required to provide app functionality and comply with Shopify’s App requirements.
With service providers: we may use trusted third-party hosting, analytics, or support providers to operate our apps. These providers process information only on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations.
For legal reasons: if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect our rights and the security of our apps.

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise make your store or customer data available to third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain store and app-related data only as long as your store uses our app.
When you uninstall an app, we automatically delete all related store data within 30 days.
We comply with Shopify’s GDPR requirements and handle the following mandatory privacy webhooks:
- customers/data_request – provide any stored customer data to the merchant.
- customers/redact – delete customer data upon request.
- shop/redact – delete store data within 48 hours of uninstall.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes secure hosting environments, encryption in transit (HTTPS), and limited access controls.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under privacy laws such as GDPR or CCPA, including:

The right to access the personal data we process.
The right to correct or update inaccurate information.
The right to request deletion of data we hold.
The right to restrict or object to certain processing.

Our apps are not directed toward children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
